A stack of books 100 times high the Arena of Verona: the recycling of Cantina Valpolicella Negrar is so worth as it makes waste a resource

Imagine 300 thousand books, about 1 cm thick (15x23cmx82pages format), put them stacked on each other: the height of the pile would be about 100 times the height of the Arena di Verona (31 meters).

Figures to lose your head! Well, this is the result of the recycling of 30 tons of labeled siliconized paper waste from 2015 to today from Cantina Valpolicella Negrar. And this thanks to the collaboration with UPM Raflatac that, through the RafCycle program, gives a second life to these by-products producing new paper in their paper mills. On the occasion of Vinitaly 2019, at the Domìni Veneti stand, dedicated to the top quality line, which is celebrating this year  the thirtieth anniversary, Stefano Pistoni and Flavio Aragozzini, representatives of the Finnish multinational, gave Natascia Lorenzi, head of marketing and communications for the winery, the certificate of collaboration.

Circular economy, a reality for Cantina Valpolicella Negrar. “To do good for the environment, sometimes we don’t need amazing gestures, just make the right choice, such as forging innovative partnerships like the one with UPM Raflatac, which allows us to save on waste disposal costs and, at the same time, transform them in resource: a fundamental concept in the circular economy, to which we look to improve our approach to sustainability “, says Renzo Bighignoli, president of Cantina Valpolicella Negrar.
